The ultrasound visualizer, or more commonly known as a stethoscope," is an essential diagnostic tool for clinicians. It utilizes sound amplification to assist physicians in identifying organs abnormalities such as the heart and lungs. Distinguishing it from the traditional "stethoscope" used by doctors, the miniaturized ultrasound (Sonovuscope) has been envisioned by Professor Hu Dayi, director of the Cardiac Center at Peking University People's Hospital, as "two items that doctors will carry in their pockets, apart from the stethoscope, a compact ultrasound device(Sonovuscope) will approach patients." And now, with the advent of Senz’s miniaturized ultrasound equipment, Professor Hu's prophecy has become a reality!Currently, China faces an imbalance in medical development, so medical services need to extend to remote and rural areas. However, low informatization levels, outdated equipment, lack of funds and physicians have become significant obstacles that hinders the development of primary medical institutions. Of particular concern, initial image screening and simple image-guided treatment is the hard need for primary medical institutions, but in practice, they are often confronted with issues such as "unaffordable equipment, incomprehensible images, and lack of treatment skills." Due to cost and operational issues, existing diagnostic equipment rarely reaches the grassroots level.
Ultrasound technology advancements will increasingly aid clinicians in diagnosis. Senz company has approached this challenge from two angles: artificial intelligence and utilization scenarios. They have innovatively created a smart medical service combining "miniaturized medical imaging equipment" with an "AI remote assisted diagnostic system."
First, we utilize artificial intelligence to enhance image quality. With the aid of deep learning from big data, we process and optimize the original low-resolution ultrasound images, so achieve intelligent segmentation and precise lesions measurement. By inputting image data into AI models, they can automatically assess lesions and tissues. This enables primary-level doctors to quickly and accurately diagnose with the assistance of the ultrasound system, significantly lowering the threshold for using ultrasound technology.
Second, from the utilization scenarios, we have transformed the possibilities of portability and easy-use into reality, and help the "miniaturized medical imaging equipment + AI remote assisted diagnostic system" applicable to more scenarios. At the same time, we have improved ultrasound equipment smoothness, then made diagnostic devices truly reach and benefit the grassroots level.
Currently, Senz has developed a “ four-in-one solution”, including AI medical imaging equipment, AI remote assisted diagnostic systems, AI screening and diagnostic workflows, and back-end remote diagnostic services. We aim to transform medical imaging equipment itself through the integration of software and hardware, thereby transforming the entire imaging workflow and doctors' inspection procedures. This has truly achieved a mobile, high-performance, and intelligent device that can better serve its intended utilization scenarios.
Senz company’s miniaturized ultrasound can visualize internal organs such as the heart, liver, gallbladder, kidneys, bladder, and uterus, as well as perform various examinations of superficial tissues, small organs, muscles, bones, and peripheral blood vessels. It can also detect 30 common lesions including the thyroid, carotid artery, breast, and liver. Its scanning navigation, lesion detection, and graphic reporting functions greatly optimize the diagnostic workflow in hospitals, clinics, and other scenarios, achieving "2-minute scan and 10-minute report" for intelligent early screening. This saves patients' waiting or referral time and costs, improves doctors' work efficiency, expands the use coverage of ultrasound, and aligns with the current trend of hierarchical diagnosis and treatment.
This is of significant importance for improving the operational efficiency, service level, and quality of China's medical and health care system, meeting the diverse, multi-level, and low-cost medical and health care needs of the people. As a leading integrated AI medical imaging and smart healthcare platform in China, Senz has already collaborated with industry leaders such as GE and China Resources Pharmaceutical Group to jointly expand product channels, establish ecosystems, and explore more scenario values. In the future, we will continue to work with partners to chart the blueprint for future healthcare, contributing to national health.
