In response to the Guizhou Government's call for developing a "Healthy Guizhou," starting from August 1, the Liuzhi Special District Health Bureau in Liupanshui City, in collaboration with Senz company, launched an "Agricultural Health Revitalization and Elderly Health Care - Public Stroke Screening Activity" in Liuzhi Special District. After eight days of free screening, the activity has achieved fruitful results.

The stroke public screening activity targeted towns’ health centers and village clinics in Liuzhi Special District. Senz’s portable ultrasound imaging devices provided scanning services for chronic disease patients over 50 years old. The portable ultrasound, aided by artificial intelligence diagnosis and combined with remote diagnosis by hundreds of senior doctors, improved the detection rate of carotid plaques. Simultaneously, our company held related health lecture to enhance the risk prevention and control of stroke in rural areas, promoting early screening, diagnosis, and treatment at the grassroots level. This also provided an effective means for the optimized allocation of medical resources, marking the first practice of Senz’s medical AI technology in Liupanshui City.

As it is difficult for rural elderly people to seek medical treatment, President Wang of Luobie Township Health Center said, "Liupanshui is known for its beautiful scenery and is known as a longevity town. There are many elderly people in the village, but many villages are located in the mountains with inconvenient transportation.”The doctor at the health clinic in Xiaozhai Village, also shared the sentiment, saying, "There are many elderly people left behind in rural areas, who have some pre-existing conditions such as hypertension and hyperlipidemia, with a high risk of stroke. However, there has been a lack of effective screening methods and diagnostic doctors, so, it is challenging to carry out health prevention and chronic disease management at the grassroots level. The portable ultrasound brought by Senz company is very practical. It can perform neck imaging scans in hand, and artificial intelligence analysis results can be seen on a mobile phone. There are also remote senior physicians issuing reports. A screening can be completed in less than 10 minutes, and the public can get the report on the spot, allowing us to see the advantages of new technology and bringing healthy benefits to the villagers."

President Chen of Jiu Long Street Health Center said, "For a remote rural area, and most of the elderly have never had a screening, and the imaging examinations is very few." 83-year-old Grandma Zhang, like most villagers, underwent her first carotid plaque ultrasound examination and found that the right carotid artery was completely blocked, often suffering dizziness and blurred vision, but she had not taken it seriously. In Dayong Town, there was a patient with lower limb paralysis who was inconvenient to move. The Senz team's doctor took the portable ultrasound equipment to his home for carotid plaque screening. The patient had a history of hypertension and occasional angina. In just two minutes, the portable ultrasound collected intuitive dynamic imaging information, discovered high-risk lesions, and issued a graphic diagnostic report in a timely manner. After that, the screening doctor urgently contacted the higher-level medical institution, uploaded the graphic diagnostic report, and completed the patient's upward referral treatment for the first time.

Portable ultrasound imaging devices and Internet medical services have enabled villagers to enjoy diagnostic services of professional medical institutions, as well as fast access to medical services through online channels, greatly enhancing the sense of health acquisition.

Small Devices with Great Utility, Driving the County to Enjoy Health Services

Under the guidance and support of the Liuzhi Special District Health Bureau, Senz’s  medical service team covered a distance of 820 kilometers in less than half a month, and went to ten village clinics to complete the stroke screening for the elderly population, totaling 1574 scans.

At the same time, health science popularization and medical report interpretation were carried out for the villagers, enhancing the local people's awareness of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. In this screening, the positive rate of carotid plaques reached more than 50%, and there were 100 high-risk people with a stenosis rate of more than 70%, with the oldest being 102 years old.

The Liuzhi Special District Health Bureau and various grassroots health centers affirmed this stroke public screening activity, recognizing the practical role of medical artificial intelligence and small medical equipment in health benefits, and supported the exploration of rural medical revitalization using digital technology.

At present, China has an elderly population of about 253 million, of which more than 60% live in county and township areas. Through this "Agricultural Health Revitalization and Elderly Health Care - Public Stroke Screening Activity," Senz’s medical service team has actually understood the importance and urgency of using advanced, portable, remote, and professional medical equipment to serve the grassroots people.

The stroke public screening activity in Liuzhi Special District has come to an end. Next, Senz’s medical service team plans to provide more inclusive medical services for the elderly in other remote mountainous and township areas of Guizhou Province, and according to the guidance of local relevant departments, strive to develop more technologically advanced, economical, and portable medical devices, and serve the grassroots people through artificial intelligence-assisted diagnosis and remote diagnosis by famous doctors, thereby further promoting the prevention and control of chronic and key diseases at the grassroots level.

Senz company is willing to contribute to the construction of a healthy Guizhou province!
